R134a is a chemical substance, also known as tetrafluoroethane. It is a gas used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems and is often recommended as an alternative to R12. R134a is environmentally friendly and does not harm the ozone layer . Furthermore, the pressure levels required to condense or maintain this gas in gaseous form are lower than those of other refrigerants.
